Here at Health Care HR we wanted to find out what are the best and most useful tools all recruitment businesses can use to recruit and how effective they may or may not be. We found that research conducted by YouGov, showed that over 50% of UK SME’s find it costly and time-consuming to find high-quality job candidates.
For recruitment to be effective in any industry whether it be in the Healthcare, Medical, construction or IT industry the recruitment tools that are being used by recruiters must be good enough to collect a pool of suitable candidates quickly and cost effectively.
The biggest problems faced by UK SME’s is the cost and time associated with finding the perfect candidate.
It is essential for any recruitment agency or recruitment consultant to get to grips with all the different recruiting channels, tools and technologies that have emerged in recent years. For example areas like social and mobile recruiting are growing massively in importance and effectiveness.
The use of agencies will escalate any recruitment cost and doesn’t always offer tangible or quantifiable results. The average recruitment cost is £1750 per candidate across the UK.
We have assessed all the cutting-edge technologies and tools that are now available in the recruitment industry and the following are those which we feel are integral to any recruitment drive of any size.
Info graphics can provide a large amount of data, presented in a visually appealing way. People often respond well to imagery/ posters e.c.t, info graphics are a great way of getting the information you want the public to see out there in a fun and more interesting way, they also get their point across via images meaning people tend to notice more rather than trying to engage in a lengthy ‘article type’ script, only resulting in disinterest and the information on a whole being disregarded. I believe the images also make the information a whole lot easier to digest and to remember for a lot longer
When using linked-in people who are part of your network are referred to as ‘connections’, connections imply that you are familiar with that person and that they are a trusted contact within your business. It is never wise to accept or invite strangers to your network; however there is a function meaning you are able to block/ filter any unwanted invitations you may receive. On a whole linked-in is a social networking site solely for professionals, pretty much the ‘business face-book’ it allows possible candidates to post to recruiters in the hope of new opportunities, also recruiters are able to advertise they’re adds and develop the public’s general knowledge of the business further.
Who doesn’t have a face-book account these days? Often for many, face-book has become a part of their everyday life, despite its purpose of keeping in contact with friends and family, it is also fantastic for business purposes, its popularity being one of the many benefits. Face-book allows you to create pages for your business that you can go on to share with friends, even ‘friends’ you are not all that common with simply and easily. Using face-books share button you are able to attach links, meaning you can share the information you want on your sites and even post on colleagues walls using the ‘tagging’ system, helping distribute vital business information that bit further, broadening worldwide acknowledgment.
Twitter is great for business use as it holds all the values necessary for online business success. Twitter displays a ‘bio’ this should always be optimized as it provides vital information to possible candidates/ clientele. Your bio is used to identify your business, what you entail and even bares a link to your company site or a loading page. First and foremost your colleagues should always be involved in the site, helping to promote the business and expand the perimeter of information outspread; your co-workers should always be following you on twitter, tweeting, re-tweeting, and generally engaging with the company and the public.
Once you have created a local page for Google + you are then able to quite literally put your business on the maps so to speak, that being Google maps, ensure you add your business address to the page, that way you are then able to appear on local/neighborhood results once searched, this will immediately impact your reach to potential clientele in a positive way. Simply using Google + can have an impact on how far down your site may be on Google’s search results. If a page you follow shares information in anyway related to what you’re searching for, that content is then moved to the top of Google’s search results, only meaning the higher the quantity of people following your business on the system, the more likely your content is to show up in their search results meaning a wider range knowledge regarding your business is being spread virally.
Each of the above programmes also has numerous other functions perfect for showcasing your business in a more than beneficial and positive way.
