Fact of the day.. here are a few facts about ‘gas’… what is it that causes an ‘iffy’ tummy? When you are unable to release gas via either bruping or flatulence it can then build up in the stomach and the intestines… this causes bloating. Bloating can cause abdominal pain and much discomfort, either passing gas or making a bowel movement will help alleviate the pain. Bloating can be caused by numerous different things, the main culprits for causing this are as follows: Fizzy drinks, smoking, stress, anxiety, fatty foods (These delay the stomach from emptying), drinking via a straw, sucking sweets/ chewing gum. (This is due to the facts that you are also swallowing air.), Beans, Breussel sprouts, Onions, fizzy drinks. The list goes on. Flatulence issues can also be caused due to various medical conditions. In order to reduce bloating, i would advise that you take a good look at what you are consuming… by reducing the volume of foods you are eating in which cause a build up of gas. Carbohydrates do nothing to help as they are the main culprit.
