Fact of the day… Here are a few facts about the bladder! Did you know that both male and female urethras are actually very different, women’s urethras are relatively shorter than that of a males due to us each having very different genitalia. Due to this fact women are far more likely to suffer urine/ bladder infections. When the urge arises to go to the toilet this is down to the bladder reaching between 25-50 percent of its full volume it must release all fluid in order to ensure it does not reach 100 percent. Surprisingly as unappealing as it is you can in fact drink urine as it is completely sterile, containing no bacteria, viruses or fungi. It is always advised to drink around 1-1.5 litres of water daily, this allows the urinary system to flush out any unwanted bacteria helping to effectively prevent infection.
